Hundertwasser's comment on the work
The grid system of the straight line is the symbol and symptom of self-destruction in our society. In every drop of water there is an infinity of life. Where the drop falls is a secret man can never fathom. Every drop of rain is a kiss from heaven.

I finally arrived in the antipodes, in the land of the people with feet on their heads, where it is winter when it's summer here, where it is day when it's night here, where the icy wind comes from the south and the sun is to the north at noon. It fascinated me that life in New Zealand is like in Europe and not the other way round, that cars move around just like here, that the air is the same, too. When I was very young I had read a book by Andreas Reischek, an Austrian explorer who had travelled through New Zealand in the last century, and here I came to realise that he had looted Maori treasures and exterminated rare bird species. His booty lies hidden in Viennese museums, and people are apparently apprehensive about putting it on display.
