Possibility of Contemporary Art
I find it childish to look for always new expressions to paint. It is bitter weakness. Because any sort of expression is good if it comes out of the heart by inner necessity. Often new styles are looked for merely to find an easier less tiring way to paint. If there is no inner necessity to express, one should leave it completely because it would be just as if nothing is done at all.
The Contemporary art is marked by confusion, because many styles have been invented without heart within a small period. All these "inventions" were merely formal, without inned necessity. So everybody is fed up with it, just like after a stupid party to which you assisted without conviction. No experimentation whatsoever which has been tried out, especially after the war, obtained a special longer lasting serious worship, not even during the time when it was en vogue. From the errors of the wrong experiments done collectively should be learned.
Everybody should find its own way. Especially now it is time to think about everything. You should think alone and carry out your own conclusion without fear. Remember whatever you do in community with others (like has been all currents) will never satisfy you nor the community. You will be like a monkey, but 100 times more happes that you find out and do yourself and the community. Yes you will be a man.
It is quite interesting to see that we are now assisting the decay of all the world religions. I am sure that modern art is dealing more and more with religious problems which will lack more and more to the religion. This will happen even if some artists do not believe in God, because the religion was more a social institution and will take its place. That is you will listen more and more to artists and less to
priests. The artist influence will increase more than the influence of scientists, who have the biggest importance just now. Art has to make and will make you happy, give you comfort in your pain and lead you out of mental misery.
Oh, you stupid disorientated chickens, you poor small animals, you do not know where to go - I cannot help you. Your question "Possibility of Contemporary Art" is so silly. The chicken is running for food, being afraid that this will be the last food. Be calm, it will not be the last. I will always give you some. But why do you not produce your own food? Because then you will have it forever.
