Hundertwasser's comment on the work
One shouldn't paint women one is in love with. Every time you do, you lose her. There must be a curse on painting them. And the women I haven't painted, I haven't lost. I used the right half of the painting - in completely different colours - for the silkscreen print 964 The Palisade.
