Hundertwasser's comment on the work
It was completely fascinating to me that I could go on board a ship and during the voyage and the stops at port paint pictures which were so valuable that I could pay for the whole trip with them. (That makes me think of the time Ernst Fuchs painted a picture on the train to or from Paris and got into trouble with customs because of this additional picture, which was not on the list.) When the ship anchored near historic sites, I did not go along on the guided tours, never left the ship, but dreamed of things I didn't even see, stayed in my cabin and painted, for instance 608 The End of the Greeks, Ostrogoths and Visigoths and also 609 Shipwreck.
