Artists see Horn

The special exhibition takes place in the Horn museum (Lower Austria) until November 15.
Friedrich Stowasser was a student at the secondary school in Horn in the school year 1945/46. His youth works “Horn, Lower Austria” and “View of the Town Horn” were drawn during this time. In 1974, Hundertwasser remembered: “Drew church and picturesque little houses from the concrete landing stage. A few Russians looked on admiringly. But an officer yelled at me that drawing and photographing were prohibited here. But after he went away went on drawing in my sketchbook.”
The two drawings are part of the exhibition curated by the former museum curator, Wolfgang Andraschek. Works by 110 artists, from amateurs to academic painters, show the city of Horn from different perspectives using a wide variety of techniques and styles.
