The Mural 96 Paradise in St. Mandé
Hundertwasser Archive
Hundertwasser lived in 1949/1950 as a guest of the Dumage family in St. Mandé near Paris, in a building belonging to the house, the former hunting pavilion of the Comtesse Castiglione, a mistress of Napoleon III. He painted the mural together with his friend René Brô on a brick wall on the second floor.
Before the house was demolished in 1964, the fresco was dismantled and shipped to the USA.
