Hundertwasser not only designed the shape and arrangements of the gateau`s layers, but also a Furoshiki (cloth wrapping) and the design for a wooden box used as packaging. The gateau was not to be too sweet, made only of vegetables, nuts and other nutritious ingredients. Various pastry confectioners presented many gateau samples, none of which met Hundertwasser's expectations, especially regarding the taste.
