In 1967 Hundertwasser took part in the Salon de Mai in Paris, which travelled afterwards to Cuba. On occasion of the Salon de Mayo in Havanna the Cuban Ministry of Communication issued a series of 15 postage stamps as an homage to the participating artists like Max Ernst, Pablo Picasso, René Magritte, Joan Miró, Roberto Matta, Alexander Calder, Antoni Tàpies, to name but a few.
The postage stamp was printed as an offset print, as a reproduction after a work by Hundertwasser. Hundertwasser had no possibility to take part in the development of the postage stamp.
