Hundertwasser altered these trousers himself in the 1950s. He used a sling stitch to give the trousers coloured seams, mended them and also inserted patches.
They were subsequently added to the catalogue raisonné as an example of Hundertwasser's ‘Creative Clothing’. Originally a gift from Hundertwasser to Yuko Ikewada, the trousers are now privately owned.
