Hundertwasser's comment on the work
Surfaces painted grey on grey like stripes fascinated me. Before painting it, I framed the picture with pieces of a "baguette électrique", which was used at the time to protect electric wiring on the wall. (from: Hundertwasser 1928-2000, Catalogue Raisonné, Vol. 2, Taschen, Cologne, 2002, p. 249)
