Hundertwasser spent September 1981 in Gschwand on Lake Wolfgangsee and painted the works numbered 837, 839, 840 and 841 in the villa on the lake in which he had rented. As in all his places of residence, Hundertwasser also used a humus toilet here he had set up in the garden of the property. For an article in the US Press, Udo Schreiber conducted an interview with Hundertwasser and Herbert Fux, the Austrian actor and politician, founding member of the United Greens of Austria (1982) and 1981 councilor of the citizens' list of the city of Salzburg to save Salzburg's old town against the development of green spaces. The two may have met on the occasion of Hundertwasser's design of the Rupertinum and the associated controversy over Hundertwasser's "tongue beards" on the museum's facade. Udo Schreiber recorded the conversation between the two, which was exclusively about environmental protection issues, in extensive photo documentation, in which Hundertwasser appeared in a traditional leather costume, which was unusual for him.
