In a park on the western periphery of the city of Dillingen an der Saar, bordering on c. 110-hectare preserve of meadowland on the banks of the Saar river, is where the architecture project called IM STROM DER NATUR (In the Flow of Nature) was to be built.
The project consists of a solar information centre, a residential development and a hotel. Hundertwasser made his participation in planning the project contingent on the possibility of having the cells for the solar panels on the information centre produced in irregular, organic shapes.
The twenty-two units in the residential complex were designed as rolling hills houses. They harmonioulsy fit in with their natural surroundings, with only their facades visible. Additional illumination for the houses is provided by internal courtyards that are open at the top.
A hotel was also planned in the form of a spiral house, similar to one that Hundertwasser developed as a model in 1974.
The project could not be realised so far, as wether an operating company for the hotel was found nor the financing was assured. The change of the mayor was also impeding a realisation.
