The stamp was created on the occasion of the European community culture event "Europalia 1987" dedicated to Austria.
The image was not painted by Hundertwasser; it shows an interpretation of the Hundertwasser House by Auguste Wanda Böcskör (1929-2003).
For the Europalia Hundertwasser had designed a transformation design for the facade of the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, which was realised for the period of the Europalia from September 16 - December 16, 1987 and a poster for the promotion.
