Hundertwasser's comment on the work

I cut part of the edition up in "storeys", pasted them on the front of nesting boxes, and covered the rest of the box surfaces with a collage of postcards and reproductions. By that time I already had an impressive number of books with colour reproductions. Where all these 66 box-books have disappeared to, is a mystery to me. I only have one left myself. Perhaps someone will find more of them? At any rate, this first three-dimensional object was not a success. Even though, when the boxes were put together, amazing overlapping architectures and surprising configurations were the result.
