Hundertwasser created this adaptation after work 170 for the cover design of the 550 signed and numbered copies of the special edition of the book by Wieland Schmied, Hundertwasser, published by Verlag Galerie Welz, Salzburg, 1974. 330 German language copies of this edition have already been published, while the 220 copies in English are still to come. The standard edition of approximately 2,500 copies displaying work 685 If You Go across the Fields You Arrive at Großeweißenbach on the cover has been continuously bound up over the years. Most recently, 150 copieswere bound in 1991, and another 100 in 2001; their cover, however, is graced by the collotype print 170A.
